The Mastercard Gamer Academy will provide 10 people with the incredible opportunity to discover the wide range of career paths the esports industry has to offer.

Participants will gain a diverse perspective through hands-on training, mentorship, access to professional esports athletes and on-site learning at major esports events.

This ten-month Academy will include:

Two (2) in-person trips to Berlin to visit the G2 Esports HQ and Training Facility
One (1) in-person trip to attend VALORANT Champions
One (1) in-person trip to attend the League of Legends World Championship Final
A wide range of digital mentorship sessions with Academy ambassadors

G2 GOZEN

Gozen is the all women’s VALORANT team for G2 Esports. Formed in 2021, Gozen went on to smash all expectations in the 2022 VCT Game Changers tournament and were crowned World Champions. In 2023, they continued their dominance and strive to defend their place as the best Women’s VALORANT team in the world. The roster includes mimi, Petra, Glance, roxi, and sarah.

Eefje ‘Sjokz’ Depoortere

Esports Host

A pentalingual (English, German, Dutch, Spanish and French) broadcaster with a penchant for performance, Sjokz made her mark on the game industry as host of the League of Legends European Championship. Widely respected across the esports world for her elevated yet authentic brand image, Sjokz is known as a role model and a champion for other women in gaming. She is also one of the most decorated on-air-talent broadcasters in the esports industry and has worked across a wide range of games including League of Legends, VALORANT and CS:GO

Sabrina Ratih

G2 Esports COO

Sabrina is the Chief Operating Officer for G2 Esports. She has an international Marketing background, and prior to her time at G2 Esports, she spent several years giving wings to people, ideas and partners at Red Bull. In 2018 she co-founded the creative brand experience company Value of We, which was born out of her 10+ year long passion for brand partnerships.

Naz Aletaha

Riot Games Global Head of LoL Esports

Naz Aletaha was named the Global Head of LoL Esports in October 2021 following an eight-year stint as the Head of Global Esports Partnerships & Business Development at Riot Games where she has spearheaded groundbreaking partnerships for League of Legends Esports including Mastercard, Mercedes-Benz, Louis Vuitton, Spotify, and State Farm. Aletaha is responsible for creating and executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for LoL Esports, providing oversight of its 12 regional leagues and three international events: the League of Legends World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and All-Star Event. Since joining Riot in 2012, Naz has catalyzed the evolution of esports from a niche competition into the fastest growing global sport, drawing interest and investment from traditional sports and entertainment industries as well as those closely aligned with esports.

One of the best League of Legends teams in the world, the G2 Esports LEC team roster includes Broken Blade, Yike, Caps, Hans Sama and Mikyx. Known for their nail-biting games and insane picks, G2’s LEC team has won the most trophies out of any team in Europe, and consistently challenge the world on the international stage.
