WHAT IS THE MASTERCARD GAMER ACADEMY?

The Mastercard Gamer Academy is the first gaming-specific career development program from Mastercard, in partnership with G2 Esports and Riot Games. Following a successful first season, the Academy is back and looking for its next group of talented students! 

This program will help participants build critical and cutting-edge skills needed to pursue careers in esports and gaming, while providing unparalleled access to esteemed gaming and esports professionals and major esports events.

HOW LONG WILL THE ACADEMY LAST?

The program will run from March through November 2025.

WHAT WILL THE ACTIVITIES BE?

The Academy will be broken into 3 semesters and provide an overview of different career opportunities within the gaming and esports industry. These include: The Team, The Broadcast and The Organization.

Semester sessions feature both online and in-person sessions at the G2 Esports HQ in Berlin as well as trips to the League of Legends World Championship and VALORANT Champions in 2025.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Those aged 21+ can apply. You will need to have a valid passport and be able to travel. This program will be run in English. Void where prohibited.*

HOW WILL APPLICANTS BE SELECTED?

Applicants will be required to complete an online form and video submission. Both will be reviewed by a judging panel from senior leaders at Mastercard and G2 Esports. Ten candidates will be selected.*

WHAT IS THE CRITERIA FOR BEING SELECTED IN THE PROGRAM?

Applicants will be chosen based on their enthusiasm for the program and their passion for gaming and esports, as demonstrated by factors such as industry knowledge and experience.
